You can get DHL courier service at cost price. Why is shipping so expensive? The simple answer is that I live and ship from Norway. The cheapest way, with a minimum of security in the form of tracking, is standard international parcel. Depending on which country in Europe its going to, it costs from £20 and up. The Nordic countries are the cheapest, continental countries costs more and the UK is the most expensive in Europe. The USA is a notch up from there again. I´m a private individual, selling my collection. I don´t have a bulk agreement that gives me cheaper shipping, and I pack books the way I like to receive them, in bubble wrap and boxes. Which isn´t free either. To the extent that your shipping price exceeds my real shipping cost by a few pounds, that overhead covers the cost of packaging.
