"The Lighter Side of My Official Life" by Sir Robert Anderson KCB is a first edition hardcover book published in 1910 by Hodder & Stoughton. This nonfiction biography provides a glimpse into the life of Sir Robert Anderson, KCB, offering a perspective on his official duties and experiences at Sctoland Yard, the Secret Service, and many other memories of service to the United Kingdom. Anderson served as the head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Scotland Yard from 1888 to 1901, overseeing the investigation into the Jack the Ripper murders, among many other cases. This book is highly collectible. Bright gilt titles on blue cloth boards. Covers are only lightly soiled. Titles are bright. Back cover shows wrinkling inside and out from moisture. Minimal discoloring. No internal ink, ex-libris plaques, stamps, etc. No dog-eared pages. The thick pages are rough-cut and stand up when the book is opened, showing that it may not have ever been read through. The moisture affect of the back cover does not convey to any of the text pages. Almost no scuffing at the corners and edges.
