Journal of the Reign of King George the Third, First edition of these journals covering the American Revolutionary war, from the library of Colonel Francis Richard Charles Grant of the 16th Lancers. The colonel served in North China as aide de camp to Sir Hope Grant throughout the campaign of 1860 and was present at the capture of Peking.Walpole was known for his strong opinions of his peers and particular biases, however, "a man of his untiring activity and gossiping habits could not fail to pick up much curious matter floating loosely in the current of society" (Doran, p. 263).
