Davies's memoir of the development and supernatural experiences of a notable practising medium at the turn of the century is rare: just 10 locations world-wide, six being at UK deposit libraries. From the library of parapsychologist Alan Gauld (1932-2024), with his small bookplate below the inscription. The book was rather ambiguously reviewed by Aleister Crowley in The Equinox under the pseudonym "Diogenes", "a simple, charming, old-fashioned motherly book, full of kindly thought and real piety; that it may have no objective value to the SPR is quite unimportant to the class of readers whom it is intended to reach. Mrs Davies is a 'professional medium'; of such I have said things which only my incapacity for invective prevented for being severe. But though the phenomena recorded in the book are 'non-evidential', I do feel the sincerity of the writer. I am confident of her good faith".
