The Chartreuse Squirrels by Collie D. Middleton, published in 1983. This is a stated First Edition and an especially interesting presentation copy because the author signed the book under both her pen name and her legal name. The title page is boldly signed Collie D. Middleton, the author’s pen name. A separate handwritten presentation inscription is signed Laura D. Foster, Middleton’s legal name, and dated July 28, 1989. The inscription was written for Harold R. Lawson and references the Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse Project, giving this copy a strong Western New York and Chautauqua County historical connection. Copyright © 1983 Laura D. There is some visible wear/residue near the upper spine area. Interior pages remain well preserved, binding is intact, and both the Collie D. Middleton signature and Laura D. A scarce regional first edition with a particularly appealing double-signature presentation association, signed by the author under both her pen name and legal name.
