Grimm's Household Tales. First edition thus, first impression, inscribed by the illustrator on the front free endpaper, "with very best wishes, from Mervyn Peake, April 1952". The inscription is shaky; during Peake's later years, he became increasingly incapacitated by what was eventually diagnosed as a form of Parkinson's disease.
