The Second Voyage of Columbus to America. First edition, the second of three accounts of Columbus's voyages published by Robert Bassam, a rival and imitator of the children's book publisher John Newbery. The son of a coffin maker, Bassam was apprenticed to the printer Thomas Harrison in 1768, was freed in 1775, and became a liveryman of the Stationers' Company in 1782. Many of his books were cheaply produced for a popular market.Worldcat locates just one copy (incomplete), at the Pierpont Morgan Library.
