Twelfth edition of Hoole's version of Comenius's Visible World, a picture book illustrating Latin and vernacular vocabulary, here with English and Latin texts in parallel columns. Originally published in Nuremberg in 1658 with text in German and Latin, the work is the first widely used children's textbook with pictures. Hoole's version for English speaking children was first published in 1659.
