A first edition of the illustrated diary from the trip taken by David Hockney and Stephen Spender around China. First edition, signed by both authors to first page; 8vo (25.5 x 19.5 cm); presentation copy inscribed by Spender on the front free endpaper, signed by Hockney in red ink and Spencer in green below the frontispiece, unmarked internally, illustrated with 158 watercolours, drawings and photographs of which 84 are in colour; publisher's red cloth blindstamped in gilt, pictorial dust jacket, a little toned around the edges, spine slightly faded, very minor rubbing to extremities, else very good; 200pp.
