Hummingbirds By Crawford H. Greenewalt Published for the American Museum of Natural History. Beautifully produced natural history volume featuring life-size color photographs of hummingbirds along with scientific illustrations and detailed commentary. Greenewalt's pioneering photography made this one of the landmark hummingbird books of the twentieth century. This copy includes the original dust jacket, which remains in very nice condition with minor wear along the edges. The jacket is complete with no major chips or tears noted. The book contains a gift inscription reading: "To Grandpa and Grandma from Jeddie, Lucy, Lorna & Rob for their birthday, 1963." Pages are clean and attractive. The top edge shows some dust accumulation from age and storage. Overall, this is a highly presentable copy of a classic natural history work and a wonderful addition to any ornithology, birding, photography, or American Museum of Natural History collection.
