Osbert (1892-1969) and Sacheverell (1897-1988) were patrons of the arts throughout their lives, building a well-known collection including works by Picasso, Modigliani, and Juan Gris following the First World War.Cecil Beaton's success in London was shaped by the influence of the Sitwells, who were his earliest patrons, taking him under their wing in 1926.
