Douglas Service publications issued in Sept. 1955 - Dec. 1958. Issues are contained in a vintage leather Douglas Service binder. Total of twenty 2-month publication issues that cover 40 months. These were published by Douglas Aircraft Company in Santa Monica, CA. The issues are focused mainly on the DC-6 and DC-7. The May-June 1958 introduces the DC-8. Cover art depicts a wealth of airline history, notably cover images of Eastern, American, Delta, United, Pan American, Braniff, Scandinavian, Swiss Air, and special issues about the ATA Conference in 1956 and 1958. The issues show some wear expected from age and intended use, some hand written names and markings but are still in very good overall condition despite their 60 plus year-old age. The pages, illustrations, tri-folds and supplemental inserts are all in very good condition. Please see photos. Binder is in very good condition. Special note on provenance. Several issues are stamped “E. C. Wagner.” E.C. “Bud” Wagner was an engineer and researcher who spent decades working at the Douglas Aircraft Company. He worked in the engineering divisions at the Douglas Aircraft plant, which was headquartered in Santa Monica, California. Wagner is credited as an author on technical research and structural design papers, including work published in partnership with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
