This is one very rare Australian comic as shown in the pictures supplied. This is a standard size edition with 24 pages in black and white print. Item Description Up for auction is an incredibly rare piece of Australian comic book history. This is Lance Harwood Issue Number 2 featuring the story Range War, written and beautifully illustrated by the legendary Australian cartoonist and historian, Monty Wedd. Published circa August 1956 by Calvert Publishing Co. Pty. Ltd. at Angel Place in Sydney and printed by Rotary Colorprint Pty. Ltd. on Hamilton Street, this item is an exceptional artifact from the golden era of local Australian pulp publishing. Due to strict government import restrictions on American comic books during the 1950s, unique homegrown gems like this were printed in very limited quantities on local newsprint, making them highly collectible today. This classic saddle-stitched issue originally sold for a cover price of one shilling. The book features a vibrant, matte color cover with a striking Western standoff scene drawn by Wedd.
