If you like true crime, police investigations, and books that take you deep into the actual details of a case, this is a really interesting one. The Ambush Murders by Ben Bradlee Jr. is the true account of the killing of two California policemen and the investigation, legal battles, and trial that followed. This is the February 1982 Berkeley Books edition, ISBN 0-425-04946-9. The book is substantial at roughly 500 pages and is divided into three sections covering the ambush, investigation, and trial. Condition: This is a used vintage paperback with noticeable shelf and reading wear, but it remains a solid, complete, very readable copy. The most significant condition issue is the upper-right corner of the front cover, which has a fairly prominent crease from being caught or bent at some point. The creased section remains firmly attached and damage should not progress with moderately careful handling. The first several pages show corresponding bending/creasing in that corner, which gradually becomes less noticeable through approximately the first 100 pages. There is also a smaller crease at the lower-right corner of the front cover. The spine has the expected creasing from being read, along with additional surface wear, but the binding is still tight and secure. Nothing about the book feels loose or like the binding is giving up. The back cover has general surface creasing and wear, including some creasing along the spine area.
