This is a highly sought-after 1998 UK proof copy issued by Hodder & Stoughton, famous for its striking chromatic, holographic foil wrapper and custom green cardboard protective sleeve. PROVENANCE & UNIQUE PUBLISHING HISTORY: This is not just a shelved collectable; it is a genuine piece of UK publishing history. This specific copy was an industry working tool, read rapidly over a two-day period by a professional event producer (myself) preparing a critical pitch to Hodder & Stoughton prior to Stephen King arriving in the UK to promote the book's launch. Because it was actively used to prepare for this high-profile campaign, the final page contains original, handwritten working notes in pen made during the pitch preparation - though I have no recollection as to what they refer, maybe ideas for ‘themed’ areas at the launch.
