$52 · Offered by eBay
Batman #161, published by DC Comics in 1964. A very attractive original 12¢ Silver Age Batman issue featuring Batman, Robin, Bat-Mite and the Mad Hatter. This issue contains two classic stories, “The Bat-Mite Hero!” and “The New Crimes of the Mad Hatter.” In the lead story, Batman tells the troublesome Bat-Mite to find another hero, resulting in a series of increasingly chaotic replacements before Bat-Mite accidentally gives his assistance to a criminal. The second story sees the Mad Hatter return to Gotham with a new series of crimes aimed at the jurors responsible for sending him to prison. A particularly enjoyable example of the colourful and unusual Batman stories of the early 1960s. Sheldon Moldoff cover artwork, with strong classic Batman imagery featuring Batman, Robin and Bat-Mite. I would personally place the comic around 5.0 VG/FN in its current condition. There is general spine wear with several small colour-breaking ticks, staple-area stress, corner and edge wear and a small lower-right corner crease. The rear cover has age-related toning, surface wear and some staining/soiling around the lower area and edges. A professional clean and press may improve the overall presentation and could potentially move the comic towards approximatel
