This listing is for the complete published series of the Red Star: Graphic novel's 1-4 + the annual 'Run Makita Run' (which is also signed). These graphic novels are large sized (12" x 9") Volume 1: The Battle of Kar Dathras Gate. Volume 2: Nokgorka Annual #1: Run Makita Run This standalone issue was published by Archangel Studios as their first (and only) annual. This issue takes place between the events of Volume 1 and 2. Volume 3: Prison of Souls Volume 4: The Sword of Lies About: The Red Star series created by American artist Christian Gossett. It was very perceptive regarding the cynical militarism, propaganda and corruption that remained at the heart of the 'post soviet' Russian system (which is reflected in the titles 'Prison of Souls' and 'Sword of Lies') and the need to oppose it. Very ahead of it's time & sadly, the message echos in recent events in Ukraine. This world is described by Gossett as a "Mythic [Soviet] Russia", the "Lands of The Red Star" being inspired by both folklore and military history. The series is thus heavily reminiscent of a post-World War II Soviet Union, mixing cyberpunk technology and sorcery, in a blend known within the lore as "Military Industrial Sorcery".
