This listing is for a Vintage Lot of (6) Foxfire Books, edited by Eliot Wigginton and published in 1972 by Anchor Books. This set includes the iconic first volume in a celebrated multi-book series documenting traditional Appalachian folk culture, self-sufficiency, and historical survival skills. Please see pictures for details, there is moderate cosmetic wear and some color fading & scuffing. No torn pages and binding still very much intact. The Foxfire Book (1972): focuses on hog dressing, log cabin building, mountain crafts, planting by the signs, snake lore, moonshining and other Appalachian traditions. Foxfire 2 (1973): covers ghost stories, spring wild plant foods, weaving and spinning, midwifing and corn shuckin's. Foxfire 3 (1975): explores animal care, banjoes and dulcimers, butter churns and more tradition skills, Foxfire 4 (1977): features fiddle making, springhouses, berry buckets and washing clothes by hand. Foxfire 5 (1979): highlights ironmaking, blacksmithing, bear hunting and more artifacts of mountain life. Foxfire 6 (1980): focuses on shoes, toys and crafts made of wood and other affairs of just plain living.
