Giorgio Vasari - Lives of the Most Eminent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects. Complete three-volume set, published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc, New York, 1979 Translated by Gaston Du C. de Vere, with an introduction by Kenneth Clark and illustrations selected and annotated by Michael Sonino. A handsome illustrated edition of Vasari's landmark history of Renaissance art and artists. The volumes feature decorative gilt-stamped spines, cloth boards with contrasting binding, marbled endpapers, portrait illustrations and numerous color and black-and-white reproductions of paintings, sculpture and other works discussed in the text. Complete 3-volume set in original slipcase. The books are in Very Good condition overall, with clean, bright interiors and attractive bindings. Light age/storage wear may be present. The volumes do retain a vintage bookseller's label on the endpapers from The Bookshelf, Grosse Pointe Farms. It has been left intact as part of the books' history.
