From Union Square to Rome is Dorothy Day's recount of her journey from radicalism to Communism before becoming a Christian. Day co-founded The Catholic Worker's Movement with Peter Maurin in 1930, a pacifist movement that cared for the poor and needy. The Catholic Church opened up the Beatification process for Day in 2012, which is the first step towards possible recognition of sainthood. This volume is inscribed by Day to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Horosky under an earlier inscription to Anne from Bessie R. Hamilton. I was told, but have not pursued documentation, that both Hamilton and the Horoskys were members of The Catholic Workers Movement. Should Day eventually attain sainthood, the value will skyrocket.
