Antique mid-19th-century The English Version of the Polyglot Bible, Facsimile Large Edition, published in London by Samuel Bagster and Sons, 15 Paternoster Row. This undated edition is generally cataloged circa 1849 and contains the Old and New Testaments with an extensive original system of references to parallel and illustrative passages. Features a black textured binding, gilt spine lettering and gilt page edges. Bagster’s English Polyglot was designed as a scholarly reference Bible using the English Authorized/King James text, supplemented with cross-references, chronology and other study material. An attractive Victorian Bible from one of the 19th century’s best-known specialist Bible publishers.
