Stirling Moss – A Turn at the Wheel – 1961 First Edition – Extraordinary Multi-Signed Motor Racing Copy Offered here is an unusual and potentially important association copy of Stirling Moss's A Turn at the Wheel, published by William Kimber, London, in 1961. This is a first edition in the original illustrated dust jacket. A Turn at the Wheel covers Moss's remarkable 1957–1960 racing seasons, including his Formula One career during one of the most dangerous and celebrated eras in international motor racing. Contemporary reviews confirm the 1961 William Kimber publication and its coverage of those four seasons. What makes this particular copy especially interesting is the group of handwritten racing autographs on the half-title page. Based upon our examination and comparison of the signatures, they appear to include: Sir Stirling Moss (1929–2020) — Author of the book and one of the greatest drivers in motor-racing history. Moss won 16 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix and finished second in the World Championship four consecutive times. Individually signed first editions of A Turn at the Wheel are themselves established collectibles; specialist examples have been offered at £375 and $400.
