First edition
"Fly Reels of the House of Hardy" by Glenn Stockwell is a first edition hardcover book published in 1978. It focuses on the history and craftsmanship of the renowned House of Hardy fly reels. Written in English, this book provides valuable insights into the world of fly fishing and is a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts alike. With detailed information and photographs, Stockwell's work is a valuable addition to any angler's library. This book is in excellent condition for a nearly 50-year-old tome. flaws: The tops of the front and back of the dust cover has mild rolling and a little yellowing from shelf-wear but, there are no tears or significant flaws. There is a written dedication and signature on the page inside the front cover, dated 1981. It doesn't appear to be the author's signature. My guess it is from someone who gave this book to a fellow fly-fishing & fly-fishing reels enthusiast (shown in picture). This does not detract from the value, in fact, only gives provenance to this delightful and informative book. The book cover and interior pages are nearly pristine as you can see in the pictures. This book is a Must Have for collectors and scholars of Fly-Fishing accoutrement!
