This is a 1983 issue/edition Kirkbride Bible Co. Black Hand-grained Morocco Genuine Leather NIV (1978 version) Thompson Chain Reference Bible with the original box. Very Good Condition - You can tell the Bible has not been used a whole lot, if at all. Binding solid throughout. Leather cover is clean and supple! Pages are free of any marks or notations. The ribbon marker, in Daniel, still appears to be on the original page of printing. I would have listed as 'Like New', but for a missing thumb label at Matthew (pictured). There are some corner tears in the box. Not that you are going to read and study the box, but want to call it out. Still, picking up the Bible and looking through it, you are impressed the Bible is in very nice, clean condition for reading and study. Measures 9 7/8" x 6 7/8" x 1 1/2". Words of Christ in red with a single ribbon marker to hold your place for daily reading. The Thompson Chain Reference Bible takes a different approach to cross references. Rather than verse cross references, there are topical numbers at the margin. Simply go to the back of the Bible and look up the number to see all of the important verses on this topic. This can be faster than tracing cross references through the Bible. In addition in the back, there are book outlines, special articles, a concordance and maps.There are several other reference tables in the back along with maps of the area of ancient Israel. 1978 was the first introduction of the popular NIV in both Old and New
