This is the first edition, first printing, first state of The Eye of the World. You can tell it is first state by the binding of glued bundles. First state means this is one of the very rare true first edition copies of the book, estimated somewhere around 1,500 copies. This copy is in excellent condition. There is a small bit of surface loss on the UPC portion of the rear panel of the dust jacket. Otherwise, the DJ is bright and vibrant and is the correct first state dust jacket with the $24.95 price. The book has a very small tear on the top of the spine, a small stain on the top of the text block, and some writing in pencil on the half title page. Otherwise, the rest of the pages and boards are clean and the binding is strong.
