Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Tom Sawyer's Comrade). First American edition of one of the great literary classics: "All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn" (Ernest Hemingway, p. 22).This copy has the three points distinguishing the first printing: "Huck Decided to Leave" on p. 9, "Him and another Man" erroneously assigned to p. 88 on p. 13, and "with the was" on p. 57. The title and page 283 are in the corrected states as usual; the bust portrait is BAL's first state. Copies were issued in green or blue cloth, sheepskin, and half morocco. There is no priority as the whole first printing was issued together in February 1885; the British edition was published first to secure international copyright, in December 1884.
