With thanks for your part in this year of curious fortunes", Typed Letter signed by the author to Dotti Irving enclosing inscribed copies of the present book to be given to the Booker judges, 2003 Banville (John) The Sea, spine slightly faded, 2005, later impressions, original boards, dust-jackets; and others, Booker Prize winners and shortlist, many signed or inscribed to Dotti Irving, including an inscribed copy of Anne Enright's The Gathering in wrappers, several with numbered stickers on spines, a few Booker Prize award pamphlets and a 2004 Booker Prize calendar, 8vo (27) *** Dotti Irving is the founder of the communications agency Colman Getty which handled the Booker Prize from 1993 to 2022. During her 30 years of working on the prize, Irving got to know many of the writers involved and accumulated a library of winning books and shortlisted titles, many of which were signed by the authors. Colman Getty handled the submissions process, ensuring publishers’ books reached the judges. With around 150 titles and seven copies of each arriving annually, they devised a simple numbering system to track the books using small, numbered stickers.
