An Image Diary from the Balkans, one of 510 copies, illustrated with photographs taken by the author, endpapers lightly browned, original boards designed by Hans Bellmer, a few light stains and surface-marks, some rubbing to joints and corners, backstrip partially detaching, overall a very good copy, 8vo, 1939. *** A rare piece of surrealist literature by the painter and writer Roland Penrose, documenting a trip he took with Lee Miller through the Balkans. Another edition of 10 was simultaneously printed on hand-made paper and included an original drawing signed by Penrose. Both editions are scarce.
