Stoppard (Tom) Typed Letter signed by the author to a fan on author's letterhead paper, 1p., 8vo, Buckinghamshire, 20th August 1980, stating his dislike of drama theory, one or two minor spots, folds. *** "The theory of drama simply has no bearing upon what I do as a playwright. It is not a considersation during the process of writing... As a matter of fact my mind freezes over at the sight of stuff like [Eric] Bentley... I am sorry to write so stingily."
