The Greatest Gift by Philip Van Doren Stern – 1950 Holiday Edition – It’s a Wonderful Life Vintage copy of The Greatest Gift by Philip Van Doren Stern, the story that inspired the classic film It’s a Wonderful Life. Published by David McKay Company, Philadelphia, and illustrated by Rafaello Busoni. Copyright dates are 1943 and 1944. This particular copy contains a special presentation page reading: “Holiday Greetings – December 1950 – B. Earl Puckett” B. Earl Puckett was associated with Allied Stores Corporation, making this an unusual 1950 holiday presentation issue. The book retains its original blue illustrated dust jacket, which has no printed price on either flap. The jacket features attractive blue, white and gold artwork. Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition. The dust jacket shows age-related wear, rubbing and some edge wear, as shown in the photographs. The hardcover book and interior pages appear quite clean for their age. Please carefully review all photographs, as they are part of the condition description. I have not attempted to clean, repair or restore the book or dust jacket. A wonderful collectible for fans of It’s a Wonderful Life, Philip Van Doren Stern, vintage Christmas books, or unusual literary editions. Please note: This is the 1950 B.
