La shei' fī Dhofār. First edition of this sociological study of the south coast of the Arabian Peninsula, especially Dhofar, claimed by both Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman. We have only traced two institutional copies, at Exeter and Bait al-Zubair.The work focuses on the impact of the Yemen Arab Republic, founded in 1964, on the surrounding areas, including the establishment of the anti-British Dhofar Liberation Front (1964-68), supported by South Yemen. This change, the author suggests, had turned Aden into "a base to serve international communism", with attempts at establishing further Marxist organizations in the Arabian peninsula, and foster European influence across it. It also discusses the Dhofar Liberation Front's ties with the Palestine Liberation Organization and the relations between South Yemen and Iran.
