N.d. ca 1960s . Original brush-drawing on paper, 10-3/4 x 10-3/4 ; stamped and signed in red ink lower right; mounted on silk scroll, approx. 48 x 17-1/2 . Faint creases from mounting, but a Near Fine example. A handsome work by the renowned calligrapher and abstract painter Shiryu Morita 1912-1998 , whose work had a profound inflfuence on post-war Abstract Expressionism, especially such western artists as Franz Kline, Pierre Soulages and others.
