A comprehensive and generously-illustrated 1897-1898 directory and atlas published for the use of shippers, buyers, dealers, etc... active on the Grand Trunk Railway. The volume is bound in a lovely gilt decorated publisher's cloth and opens with eight color lithograph maps of states and provinces by George F. Cram: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ontario, Quebec, New Hampshire and Vermont, Maine, and New York, with the Railway's network outlined in red. Further are many more vignette maps about hundreds of advertisements for Canadian and American firms, many illustrated, some full-page. This directory is unrecorded by OCLC and we locate none in auction records or commerce. [8], 320pp. Approximately 11" x 8." Blue publisher's cloth over boards. Elaborate gilt stamped title illustration to front, gilt stamped text advertisement to rear. Ornate blind stamped ruling to front and back. Mild handling wear to cloth. Interior front hinge split, tiny split starting at rear. Overall sound, uncommonly bright and clean. Very good.
