FOSTER Animation by Preston Blair (1949) paperbound, saddle-stitched, 40 pages plus covers, 13.75" x 10.25" This is a very nice 1949 edition of animator Preston Blair's wonderful illustrated book of art instruction for aspiring animators. It was first published in 1947 and was revised and updated regularly into the 1990s. All of the drawings in the book were done by Mr. Blair and includes his new drawings that replaced those in the earlier edition from his work at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Mr. Blair was an animator and filmmaker from the 1930s into the 1980s with the major studios—Columbia, Walt Disney, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Hanna-Barbera—and as an independent. "Copyrighted 1949 by Preston Blair and Walter Foster" appears on the inside front cover. This is a very nice book, clean and unused; the cover shows light rubbing of the cover: FINE+ condition.
