First mass market paperback edition, first printing set (except book 2 which is a second printing) of The Book of the New Sun series and Urth of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe (Pocket Books / Tor, 1981-1988). Vintage set of the first arc and transition novel in the beloved fantasy / science fiction series. Pocket Books published 1-4 and Tor published Urth. Contains the novels: The Shadow of the Torturer (1st, 1981) / Claw of the Conciliator (2nd, 1982) / The Sword of the Lictor (1st, 1982) / The Citadel of the Autarch (1st, 1983) / Urth of the New Sun (1st, 1988). Mild rubbing/scuffing to covers and shelf wear around the edges - including chipping, creases and small tears. Corners slightly bumped/creased. Bindings are firm and spines are straight. Two pages after copyright page in book 3 are creased at top edge. Marker stains to bottom edge of text block of book 1. Pages otherwise clean and unmarked though tanned. See photos for condition.
