The Goshawk. First edition, described by David Garnett as "Tim's best book... a masterpiece". White originally wrote this account of training a goshawk using traditional falconry techniques in 1936, initially deciding against publishing the work owing to its intimate revelations about his personality. He later acquiesced after his publisher came across the manuscript during a house visit in 1949.
