This copy is personally signed by Boris Akunin directly on the title page. The signature is written in blue ink beneath the author and translator information. The Diamond Chariot is part of Akunin’s acclaimed Erast Fandorin mystery series. The novel combines historical mystery, espionage, adventure and detective fiction through interconnected stories involving Russia and Japan. One portion takes place during the Russo Japanese War of 1905, while another explores Fandorin’s earlier experiences in nineteenth century Japan. The 2011 Weidenfeld & Nicolson hardcover is the first British publication of this English edition and is considerably more collectible when signed.
