This is an original, one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn page of art from 1960. It is not a print or a copy. It is a very large piece, ink on card, measuring approx 17 x 22.5 inches. Also included is the comic the art was printed in. The page makes up one week's complete instalment of the regular strip 'Tess of the Texas Moon'. The strip concerned a girl who moves from New York to her grandpa's ranch and has to prove herself as a cowgirl and ranch manager. It ran from 30/01/1960 to 02/07/1960, and was drawn by the same artist throughout. The consensus seems to be that this artist is Colin Merrett (1914-2005). Some very nicely drawn panels. This page was published in the March 12, 1960 issue of Princess comic. The artwork is in reasonable condition but the page is more or less held together by tape on the back running horizontally between the different strips of panels. It has an edge tear at the top (away from the art) and a crease about 2/3 of the way down. Some of the word balloons are a little delicate and there is the possibility that one or more could come adrift during transit. However, the art will be secured in a sleeve so nothing will be lost. The comic is also in reasonable condition, with a small corner tear out of the cover top left at the spine (see picture) and a word written on the cover also.
