True U.S. first edition, first printing (July 2000) of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, published by Scholastic / Arthur A. Levine. Includes both well-known first-printing text errors later corrected. Error — page 291: Harry’s letter to Sirius is missing the word “know”: “I don’t who put my” (should read “I don’t know who put my”). Error — page 667 (Priori Incantatem): James Potter emerges first, then Lily. James is described as “the man” / “a tall man with untidy hair,” then says “Your mother’s coming,” after which Lily appears and “straightened like her husband.” Later printings reverse this to Lily first, then James.
