Spine ends gently bumped and bottom edge with a couple of tiny rubbed spots, near fine in modestly worn, very good or better dust jacket with the delicate pink spine lettering only a tiny bit sunned. Inscribed on the front fly: "Joe with love Bricky," along with the recipient's partially address label in the Hudson Square neighborhood, a block south of the West Village. Fascinating autobiography of the Queen of Harlem and Paris Café society, and club owner who gave Duke Ellington his first break in New York, encouraged a young Josephine Baker and was written about by Ernest Hemingway, F.Scott Fitzgerald, Evelyn Waugh, and T.S. Eliot. We've never seen another signed copy.
