A lovely original two-volume set, comprising: Volume I – 1956 (MCMLVI) Volume II – 1957 (MCMLVII) Nevill Coghill's celebrated modern English translation Illustrated with woodcuts by Edna Whyte Original dust jackets included with both volumes The books themselves are in good condition for their age. The pages and illustrations are generally clean and well preserved. The original dust jackets are present and complete, with some wear/damage around the edges consistent with age and use. There are no pieces missing from either dust jacket. Please see the photographs carefully for the exact condition. A particularly nice opportunity to acquire an early Folio Society edition of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales with the original dust jackets.
