Volume 1 in the incredibly detailed and researched series (of four volumes) by a world authority on this composer. 701 pages, plus appendices and notes, index, 987 pages in all. (It took me over a year to read it!) The book is in good condition - see the photos. I would have listed as nearly 'very good' condition, but note the slight weakness shown where the title page joins the spine; it could easily be taped but I decided not to. Dust wrapper in good condition, rubbing at the edges/corners. no tears, unclipped. Text excellent - clean, no comments/notes added. Dust jacket in protective glassine-type wrapper. An essential text if you are fascinated by Mahler and want to better understand the man and his music.
