Second printing of the second edition (the first edition is the ultra-rare 1943 William Morrow) in black cloth boards with gold spine stamping. Interior is unmarked. Binding is strong and intact with no cracking, separation, or loose pages. Corners are square and unrubbed. Text block is clean and unmarked with no foxing. Interior pages are clean with uniform age-toning, no writing or other marks, no tears, no folds, no foxing, no odors and no water damage. Dust jacket is in Very Good condition, unclipped but with no price listed. Bold black and green front and spine art with no evidence of sun-fading. Minor chips at extremities and folds with more significant open tears at bottom 3/8" of spine and another V-shaped tear 1/2" x 1" on lower back jacket - see photos.
