Seven Pillars of Wisdom is the autobiographical account of the experiences of British Army Colonel T. E. Lawrence. Colonel Thomas Edward Lawrence (1888 – 1935) was a British archaeologist, army officer intelligence unit, diplomat, and writer, who became renowned for his role in the Arab Revolt (1916–1918) and the Sinai and Palestine Campaign (1915–1918) against the Ottoman Empire during the First World War (earned his international fame, as ‘Lawrence of Arabia’). The basis for the 1962 David Lean film "Lawrence of Arabia," considered by many to be among the best films ever made. The initial manuscript was completed in February 1922, and the actual book was first privately published in December 1926.
