Russian Titles for the Specialist. A collection of Russian titles from the library of the translator Michael Glenny, with a handful of annotations. The Times called Glenny "the most outstanding Russian translator of his generation". His ink ownership inscriptions and blind stamps are on the preliminary leaves of a few volumes. The Prideaux Press reprinted obscure Russian texts through the 1970s. Included here are works by Bulgakov, Andrey Bely, Ivanov-Raumnik, A. Z. Shteinberg, and Feodor Sologub, and critical appreciations of Leonid Andree, Dostoevsky, and Tolstoy. Glenny was best known for his influential translation of The Master and Margarita and other Bulgakov works.
