The Seven Days of Creation. First edition in English, signed by the author on the title page and dated 4 May 1975. Although unmarked as such, this copy is from the library of renowned Russian translator Michael Glenny, who translated a later work by Maximov, Farewell from Nowhere, in 1978.First published in 1971 and largely circulated in samizdat copies, this novel landed Maximov in trouble with the Russian authoriries. In June 1973 he was expelled from the Union of Soviet Writers, and in 1975 he was stripped of his citizenship.
