Vintage U.S. Copyright Office / Library of Congress archive, circa 1978 Offered as one original group is a substantial collection of United States Copyright Office forms, circulars, regulatory announcements and reference material dating primarily from the implementation period of the Copyright Act of 1976. The collection includes approximately 49 individual documents plus the original Copyright Office portfolio, including: • 25 unused Copyright Office Request for Special Handling forms, dated December 1978 • 5 unused Form VA — Application for Copyright Registration for a Work of the Visual Arts • Form PA — Work of the Performing Arts • Printed Public Law 94-553, October 19, 1976, the General Revision of Copyright Law • Two Copyright Office regulatory Announcement publications • Copyright Office Circulars R1b, R1c, R1d, R1e, R2, R4, R5, R5a, R7a, R7b, R7c, R8a, R30, R60a and R63 An unusual surviving working/reference group from the period when the Copyright Office was implementing the major 1976 revision of U.S. copyright law. Of interest to collectors of legal history, Library of Congress material, federal government ephemera, publishing history, graphic design, copyright history and late-1970s paper ephemera. Condition: Documents show varying degrees of age-related toning, handling, edge wear and storage wear. The original outer portfolio is considerably worn, with tears and edge/corner damage.
