Letters to the Peers of Scotland. First edition of Lauderdale's tract, written when he was the only Scottish peer left in opposition, and through its harsh criticism of the government, preventing his re-election to the Lords from 1796 onwards. It was due to this exclusion from politics that Lauderdale focused on questions of finance and economy, the work by which he is best known.
