Observations on the conduct of the Tories, The Whigs, and the Dissenters; With Advice to the latter. First edition, a defence of religious toleration and an appeal for all parties to uphold it, tracing the course of religious persecution over the prior century, with all parties sharing blame and none guiltless. The author notes the waning of this persecution, and credits this in part to the writings of John Locke, to whom favourable references are made.
