For Jim Carrey fans, ’90s nostalgia collectors, and anyone who remembers getting these kinds of books at the school book fair — here’s a fun one. JIM CARREY: Funny Man by Joan Wallner, published by Abdo & Daughters in 1996 as part of the Reaching for the Stars series. This is a short illustrated biography covering Carrey’s early life and rise to fame, including his childhood, early comedy work, acting career, and breakthrough years. The book also includes a listing of his TV shows and movies from 1984–1995, along with a section featuring his address as it appeared in the original publication. This is an ex-library copy that was withdrawn from an elementary school library. The former spine sticker was removed cleanly, with only a small amount of residue remaining. There is also some visible evidence where a rear security sticker was removed. Library markings remain inside the book, including several former library stamps that have been marked through with black marker. The rear library pocket is still present, but there is no library card or other checkout material included. For its age and history — especially considering it was a children's library book — the interior is in excellent shape. The pages are bright, white, and very clean overall. There are a few small stray marks here and there, including what appear to be occasional light pencil/scuff marks.
